Exterior Checklist

The exterior of your house is inspected for signs of forced entry, vandalism, and theft. We visually assess your yard, landscaping, and pool area for maintenance (if required). We also perform regulatory tasks such as:

  • Check irrigation and time systems
  • Remove newspapers, flyers, mail, and packages
  • Visual checks of screens, windows, AC units
  • Check for pest attacks and infestations
  • Examine water and gas pipelines for leaks

Interior Checklist

The interior of your house is inspected for damage and disturbance. We ensure that all entrances and windows to your house are properly shut and locked. Next, we procedurally execute a list of housekeeping operations. We also perform regulatory tasks such as:

  • Reset clock and timer systems
  • Notify you about telephone calls made and messages forwarded
  • Search for mold, mildew, and termite damage
  • Check washrooms, sinks, countertops, tubs, and showers for water damage
  • Assess whether or not heating units and air conditioners are functional
  • Check ceilings and skylights for damage
  • Replace batteries in smoke detectors and other appliances
  • Scan electrical appliances, fuse boxes, and tipped breakers for damage
  • Check if the house security system is working

Note: This service includes opening/closing of appliances, doors, windows, and other systems.

Emergency Services

We instantly and pro-actively respond to alarm notification by scheduling permits.

You will be notified if there is evidence of any visible signs of intrusion, damage, or disturbance. The report will be sent to you via email.

Note that we are not a home security service, so do inform your alarm company that we are a key holder.

Closing Services

Empty perishables from the refrigerator, empty and turn off icemaker, close blinds, set HVAC system to away settings, unplug electrical items, turn off water at house, unplug or turn off breaker to the water heater, shut off valves to toilets, unplug washer & dryer, bring in containers and check security of doors and windows.

Opening Services

Turn on electric breakers, turn on all water mains, turn on water heater and ice maker, plug in electrical items, adjust A/C, open blinds, freshen toilets. Contact cleaning service if requested.

Pre – Storm & Post – Storm Inspections

Desert Valley Home Watch will send out an alert email if there is a Monsoon Warning /Severe Storms for the area. At your request we will check on your home pre-storm, ensure that all furniture is inside, and perform any special requests for your property. Post-storm, Desert Valley Home Watch will check your property, look for visible signs of damage, take photos and send a detailed report to owner.

Meet Service Providers/Deliveries

Coordinate with third party providers based on home owner scheduling. Provide access and stay on site, i.e. for repairs or services

Key Management

Store and release keys to contractors and or guests per owner’s permission.

Coordinate With Third-Party Service Providers

We coordinate with any third party individuals/companies such as plumbers, landscapers, electricians, and other repairmen scheduled to visit your house. We will be responsible for providing them with access to your premise and ensuring that they leave as required before we lock up your house. Note that we can also manage the release of keys to contractors and guests as indicated by you. We use state of the art GPS-reporting and business management software to manage and process your property’s maintenance tasks as well as security checks, leaving nothing to chance.
